Helping children with autism and Running the Boston Marathon - 2 passions in 1
Pieter Wessel Help Autism
Hello, I am Pieter Wessel, Dutch, father of 2 boys, a tax lawyer and partner in Deloitte, a passionate marathon runner and fund raiser. On 21 April 2014 I will run my dream marathon in Boston. My running is also a tribute to my both sons: to Alex because of enormous struggles and victories in the last years and to my oldest son Carel because of his almost unnatural maturity and understanding. The way he plays tennis, inspires and motivates me in my running career.
My request
I wholeheartedly appeal and encourage you to donate for one of 3 carefully selected social projects raising funds for specialized therapy and social integration of children with autistic and other development disorders in Romania and Bulgaria. Below you can choose one of the preselected amounts or chose your own amount.
Special achievement scheme
A marathon is a race with yourself. I am more than dedicated to cross my limits, make personal best time and help as much as possible those children in need. Of course every contribution is welcome. I like achievements. Therefore, I have introduced a result based contribution. After deciding on and paying your base amount you can reward me for special achievements on my marathon time. E.g. you commit:
25% extra if I do better than my personal best of 3:16:37 hours but more than 3:10 hours OR 50% if between 3:00 and 3:10 hours OR 100% if better than 3:00 hours (my dream time). If I make it, you remit the extra amount after the marathon. You can indicate your participation in the special achievement scheme by ticking the box.
If you want to make a personal, tailor-made commitment, feel free of course. Please write it down in the ‘Message box’.
The donor with the highest contribution will be awarded with a unique race T-shirt of the Boston Marathon 2014.
I will personally match 10% of all your donations.
Thank you
Pieter
